The DC is converted into alternating current (AC) that is used for powering lighting fixtures, appliances and equipment in buildings.


What is the actual life of PV module?


Once installed, one can forget about the PV module. It lasts for a long time then you have ever thought. According to the tests conducted, the technology of polycrystalline modules degrade at a steady rates of 0.25%-0.5% in a year.


The power output warranty of offered solar panels is 25 year and has the ability to last twice that long. What is net-metering?


Net measuring is the only way to calculate the difference between the electricity purchased from the utility and the electricity produced by the solar energy system. The excess energy that a solar system produced spins the existing meter backwards, means the electricity is stored until it is required. The meter spins forward when the solar system is not generating electricity that is currently required. Th meter tracks the net difference as the electricity is generated and take electricity from the utility grid.

It allows one to get a full value for the energy generated without the need to install and invest in a battery storage system.


What is the effect of weather on my solar electric system?


A solar energy system can withstand every weather condition. It can handle extreme weather conditions as well, from high/ low temperatures, lightning, and wind up to 80 miles per hour. Although, these extreme weather conditions can reduce the production of energy for temporary basis.


How does the rain or fog effect the production capacity of solar system?


The system will produce 25-30% of normal in fog as well as in other conditions, like marine layer and June gloom. The production can slightly cut due to steady rain, but the rain is great for cleaning solar panels.

Does the snow covering affect the production rate of the panels?


The solar system production will be minimal when the panels are covered with snow following a snowstorm. Therefore, it is essential to install it in a spot where sunshine is greatest. The snow on the solar panels will melt first. As the panels with tempered glass surface are tilted, the snow will quickly slide off.


Where can it store electricity to be used after the sun goes down?


“Grid-Tie Only” is the basic solar system which requires no batteries. The excess electricity produced by the solar panel will be transported to local utility grid, thus spinning the meter backwards. The power sold to the utility company will get you credit. This process is called as Net Metering.


Can i keep power during a power cut?


A solar system backed with a battery storage system can be installed if you want to power your home even during a blackout.


Can I add a battery-backed system on an installed grid-tied system?


The solar panels in both, off-grid and grid-tied systems are similar. Batteries can be added to an grid-tied system by replacing an inverter with a special hybrid device.


How do I determine the system size?
